The thrill of the undead

This Christmas I received a copy of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. Based on the very romantic yet dense book by Jane Austen, this book throws in the curveball of zombie attacks and the Bennet sisters' mastery of combat tactics and expertise with the blade. I have to say that I am hooked.

Like the cliched B movie, this book has the intrigue of wars with the undead including moaning and brain gorging, but unlike the B movie it stays fairly close to the plot and story line of Jane Austen's literary classic. I think of this book like a comic book or graphic novel. While it doesn't make the purist happy, it does make for some who would never dream of picking up a classic piece of literature an inroad to understanding the story line and plot.

So go ahead and read Pride and Prejudice and Zombies and always remember "it is a truth universally acknowledged that a zombie in posession of brains must be in want of more brains." Enjoy.
